Meet Dr. Mara Czegel, PhD
Mara specializes in working with anxiety disorders, self-esteem, and personality disorders; She also has the unique niche of working researchers/academics as well as those who have lived abroad.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Mara worked as a researcher at Harvard Medical School, University of Pennsylvania, and as a Fulbright scholar in Budapest, Hungary, studying psychotherapeutic interventions for anxiety disorders and personality disorders. Her work has resulted in 20+ publications in research journals and popular science magazines. Having lived in Europe for several years, Mara deeply understands bi-cultural and cross-cultural challenges. Her background as an academic researcher also has shaped her approach, allowing her to connect with and support clients from diverse backgrounds in a meaningful way!

Mara specializes in anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, depression, and self-esteem, including couples therapy. She uses Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR, and other eclectic, related modalities and also works with Schema therapy.
